Schubert: The Complete Songs presents the chance to hear the complete songs of Schubert performed by truly outstanding artists over two seasons at Wigmore Hall. Our series opened in September with two recitals given by Florian Boesch, which attracted 5-star reviews and great critical acclaim.
The series continues on Thursday 29 October when Christoph Prégardien and Christoph Schnackertz make a welcome return to Wigmore Hall. Schubert has occupied the centre ground of Christoph Prégardien’s recital repertoire for over three decades. The German tenor’s penetrating interpretations flow from his sophisticated engagement with words and music. He and Christoph Schnackertz present such familiar songs as ‘Der Hirt’ and ‘Nachtviolen’ in company with rarely performed early treasures, ‘An Emma’ and ‘Der Liebende’ outstanding among them.
